Mrs Talbot

A really interesting photo of Mrs Talbot, given to a member of her staff. The inscription, literally translated from French means “if life’s easy and extravagant then you don’t appreciate the good things in life because it’s normal”

Florrie Hankinson, used to be a Ladies Maid to Mrs Talbot.

On the death of Mrs Talbot, Florrie and the cook, were left the joint use of a bungalow on Hagg Hill, Sheffield, together with an annuity of £5 per week each. The bungalow was beautifully furnished with antiques, including a piano that played itself!
