Dr Jenny Stephenson is a GP at Walkley and Stannington Medical Centres since 1985, being Senior Partner from 2007 until leaving there in 2018. She then spent four years working with a neighbouring single-handed GP in Stannington until his retirement in 2022, when she re-joined her original Practice.
Jenny was Sheffield’s GP Lead for Diabetes for over 20 years until 2021, working to promote excellence in Primary Care diabetes, and also supporting the charity Diabetes UK in its valuable work throughout that time. She was also involved in clinical training for healthcare professionals from 2000-2014 also working with Sheffield Hallam University as a Visiting Lecturer.
Jenny retired from general practice in March 2024, maintaining her interest in medical history, for which she is studying the Diploma. She has written three books for the Public relating to the history of medicine, water and pharmacy, and the talks she gives on the topics and book sales are all collected for charities.
