Shasta Ashraf is Head of Grants at Sheffield Hospitals Charity, which distributes over £2m in grants each year, to enhance the care and treatment of patients accessing NHS services in Sheffield.  Shasta has worked for Sheffield Hospitals Charity for over 12 years- working her way up from Trust Fundraiser to Grants Manager and now Head of Grants. In her current role,  she manages the distribution of all grants with a value of £5,000, which entails working closely with staff across both Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS FT and Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS FT and working closely with the charity’s CEO to identify and project manage major fundraising appeals. Shasta is also the principal point of contact for NHS Charities Together, which last year, resulted in her securing a grant of £760,000 for the South Yorkshire and Basset Law region.

Prior to joining the charity sector, Shasta worked as a solicitor specialising in construction litigation.   Shasta moved into the third sector because some of her very best memories were provided by activities and experiences funded by charities.

Shasta lives in Lodgemoor in Sheffield, with her two children and husband. In her spare time she would love to write that she goes on regular long runs and attends lots of yoga classes, however, these are very much lofty aspirations and in reality she often spends her spare time with her family, eating out, going to the cinema and spending  an unhealthy amount of time looking at holidays abroad that never seem to quite materialise.
